D*Face is one of the most prolific urban artists of our times. Through his cast of dysfunctional characters, the British artist paints a bright and graphic satire against the establishment, the cult of celebrity, the over-saturated consumerism and materialism at the heart of our society. D*Face works with diverse mediums and techniques, drawing inspiration from advertising, comic books, skateboarding culture, pop art and contemporary imagery to create his playful and witty graffiti, murals, posters, stickers, prints and sculptures. An alleged associate of the most controversial street artist Banksy, all his major solo exhibitions have sold out within hours of opening. D*Face is the owner and curator of the Stolen Space Gallery, London’s first contemporary gallery to focus on street art.
HRH Her Royal Hideous portrays one of the artist's most recurrent subjects: a rusty and dusty queen of England on a real Union Jack flag. First exhibited during his solo exhibition ‘Wasted Youth’ at CAC Málaga in 2015, this piece examines the fragility of life. Nothing human remains, only the crown prevails.
