More information about this artwork

Emerging in the early 1980s East village art scene, the American contemporary artist George Condo explores the hybridization of traditional old masters’ physicality with American Pop culture’s sensibility. As a visual artist, Condo is very versatile in his style of representation. His unique artistic approach, initially dubbed ‘Artificial Realism’, generates worlds between the real and the imaginary, depicting narrative scenarios that allude to hundred years ago but still are very contemporary.
