More information about this artwork

While typical of his brightly colored balloon animal pieces, this piece by Jeff Koons boasts a rather unique provenance: it is made out of a Dom Pérignon Rosé bottle, as opposed to the artists usual materials. Dom Pérignon Balloon Venus was created in cooperation with the iconic champagne company, and Koons told Elle Magazine that ‘The Balloon Venus represents to me an object from the Paleolithic time period; the champagne of Dom Pêrignon is an old champagne. It’s not Paleolithic, but it represents history, and that is what the Balloon Venus represents.’
