More information about this artwork

Born in Hungary, Szabolcs Bozo’s canvases resemble coloring books, where fantastical animals that seem to have been borrowed from children tales exist joyfully. No witty, sarcastic or dark message is hidden amongst the merry and innocent cast of his imaginative figures. Bozo has created a safe and light-hearted world, where all of us are welcome if we ever feel the need to escape from the seriousness of reality. Focusing on painting and drawing, Bozo blurs the lines between both styles of expression.

C.L.004 presents an amicable monochromatic ocean blue octopus-elephant hybrid that looks towards us with googly eyes. Using a painterly approach, the loosened paintbrushes of warm color convey liveliness and movement to the animal, who seems to be dancing across the canvas. Bozo is a promising young artist on the rise, having been recently featured in solo exhibitions in Mallorca and Paris.
