Vik Muniz is a Brazilian artist renowned for his innovative approach to visual art, often recreating iconic images using unconventional materials before photographing them. Born in São Paulo in 1961, Muniz’s work challenges traditional notions of representation and perception. His art has been exhibited globally, reflecting his status as a significant contemporary artist. 

In 2025, Muniz created “Vase of Flowers, After Van Gogh,” an archival pigment print measuring 63 x 40 inches (160 x 101.6 cm). This piece is part of a limited edition of six, each signed and numbered by the artist. The work exemplifies Muniz’s practice of reinterpreting classic artworks, in this case, Vincent van Gogh’s floral compositions, through his unique lens, inviting viewers to reconsider familiar images within contemporary contexts.
