George Condo has long been celebrated for his psychologically charged portraits that merge Old Master tradition with the fractured language of Cubism and contemporary figuration. Across his practice, Condo invents what he famously terms “Artificial Realism,” constructing faces and personalities that feel both familiar and unsettling. His figures oscillate between elegance and distortion, channeling art-historical references—from Picasso to Velázquez—while remaining unmistakably his own. Over the past decades, Condo has secured his position as one of the most important painters of his generation, with strong institutional recognition and a devoted global collector base.
In 2024, Condo collaborated with Avant Arte on three striking editions—Lost In Time, Portrait, and Head (Prismatic Head Composition)—each executed as a 22-color silkscreen with spot colors on 600gsm Somerset Tub Sized Radiant White paper. These works distill Condo’s signature vocabulary into bold, graphic compositions, where fractured planes and exaggerated expressions heighten the emotional intensity of the human face. Each print is from an edition of 150, signed and dated by the artist in the lower right corner, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Measuring approximately 32 × 31 2/3 inches (81 × 80.4 cm) unframed and 34 3/4 × 34 1/2 inches (88.2 × 87.6 cm) framed, the editions translate Condo’s painterly complexity into a refined silkscreen format, preserving both chromatic depth and psychological nuance.
