Los Angeles-based graffiti artists RETNA, born in 1979, emerged on the graffiti art scene when he was just a teenager in the early 1990’s. His distinctive style involves using ancient languages and lettering to revolutionize the art world. By drawing inspiration from different alphabet and writing systems – Hieroglyphics and Hebrew, to name a few – RETNA developed a new writing system which he employs in his artwork. His eye-catching creations have made waves in the commercial art world, and he has collaborated with some of the world’s biggest brands and fashion houses on design and graphics elements for stores, scarves, and even airplanes.
