George Condo (born 1957 in Concord, New Hampshire) is one of the most influential painters of his generation, known for developing what he famously described as “Artificial Realism,” a style that merges classical European painting traditions with modern abstraction and psychological portraiture. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Picasso, Velázquez, and the Old Masters, Condo creates figures that appear simultaneously elegant, distorted, humorous, and unsettling.
