More information about this artwork

Ralph Ali Eckert is a German-American visual artist, film director, producer and screenwriter. His early education and professional career in photography, film and design – co-producing and directing several music videoclips, short films and documentaries such as Dark Ages and Killer – flows into his series of photo art, halfway between abstract and narrative storytelling. Eckert silently records human, energetical and emotional traces, taking the viewer on a voyeuristic journey in which elements of visible and fictional reality co-exist, shaking the limits of perception. The viewer becomes his own director, filling in the narrative gaps of the missing image information. The artist’s most acclaimed series include his large format nudes on silk Photo Paintings and his sensual and erotic staged photographs Photo Noir.

Silent Silhouettes is one of Eckert’s most exquisite works. Portraying a romantic seascape at dawn, the artist records a silent presence, a fugacious pulse of light. In his search for identity, this emotional moment is charged with symbolic content, becoming a captivating representation of the landscapes of the soul. In 2016, one Eckert’s triptychs belonging to this series was accepted into the German Art Fund Hungary.
